What do I need to know?

You are right now, here, in this moment reading this page. It is at this moment that your mind is silent and without chatter -or- heavy like a stone you carry in your head.

Buddhism is a set of practices designed for improving one's own life and the lives around you. It has been designed for you! You are your own weathervane. This you must understand.

About 2500 years ago, lived the first teacher recognized as being in the state of constant wakefulness.

The person's name was Siddartha Guatama and became known as the Buddha of the Shakya clan or Shakyamuni Buddha.

The Buddha offered insights to his students on ways that they could awaken. An important insight: trust yourself.

Right now, you are here reading this page. In your mind is the clutter and garbage you call your personality -or- your mind is clear and focused on all things perfectly.

It is the part of you that is still and happy that is the Buddha mind. When you let thoughts intrude on your mind's natural peace, you attract clutter like dust to a dust mop.

Buddhists practice for thousands of lifetimes to learn to quiet the mind. The Buddhists who make it this far are amazed at how easy it was to learn.

Underneath the impressions, blasting through the ego, beyond the karmas, right now, right here is your Buddha mind. To see it, simply clear your mind and quiet your thoughts.

Fight without blood on the carpet. If thoughts come in, gently push them away by bringing your attention to the center of your chest.

Relax, just beyond your mind is perfect knowing. Not how to fix cars or garden, but how to feel perfect light and happiness. Naturally.
