I want to be happy.

Buddhists love laughter. It is an understanding that from the place of perfect awareness, life is extremely funny.

With that in mind, diverse methodologies were developed in the Buddhist practice to inspire personal happiness.

Happiness stays with you regardless of your circumstances. Happiness is far deeper than transient pleasure. Happiness is energy and energy capacity.

To increase your happiness, you need to increase your energy.

Buddhism is about being real. To increase your energy, you have to be real with yourself and take an honest look at your own life.

What gives you energy?
What takes it away?

Sometimes, it is not what you predict. Lots of people in lots of lives get stuck on "what used to work." Every moment is a fresh, new opening to discover an improved way to lead your life.

Sometimes, you may know what it is that you need to do, but fears prevent you from advancing.

When this happens, if your mind is clear, you can step outside yourself to know if your fears are warnings to be heeded or illusory self created bunk. If you cannot rise above them, find other ways to build your energy until you are able.

Your buddha mind is naturally bouyant and happy. When you twist your mind back onto itself with worry and ego, you dwell in illusion.

When you practice clearing your mind and keeping thought chatter silent, you will know what to do.

Sometimes, it is as simple as good night's rest, a short walk in nature, or a moment's quiet.
